Lina Doyle – Behind the Mask
At Theale Wellbeing Centre we have a very versatile and talented acupuncturist – Lina Doyle. Here we learn a little more about the real Lina…….
1. What’s your favourite sport?
My favourite sport is dancing, it might not seem like much but it exercises both the brain and all muscles in the body. It is great for all levels of fitness, its a lovely social environment and most of all you have lots of fun.
2. If you were on Mastermind what would your specialist subject be?
Most of my patients call me a walking encyclopaedia for alternative health. So I guess the human body.
3. What would be your dream occupation?
My dream occupation, well that’s easy, it’s what I do already. I don’t see it as a job that pays the bills, it’s my passion to help people with their health and well-being.
4. Describe your first car and what you loved or hated most about it.
I was very fortunate to have inherited a 5 series BMW from my mom. I loved it as a first car but it wasn’t cheap to run as a student and putting myself through University so after 5 years it had to go.
5. Do you have hidden talents most people don’t know about?
I was a mini Mr Miyagi as a kid… I remember being able to walk up to a fly and catch it even mid flight with my little fingers. Kinda sad I lost that ability as an adult.
6. If you were on desert island discs what would your luxury item be?
So I had to look this one up as I have never listened to this radio show before… But I guess chocolate covered strawberries, I used to get those as a treat from the chefs when I worked on cruise ships as an acupuncturist.
7. Name one thing on your Bucket List you’ve yet to do?
To travel Asia I have always wanted to spend time in China, Japan and Korea, and observe acupuncturist in their clinics. Its that or swimming with sharks.
8. What one accomplishment are you most proud of?
I helped set up a salsa club in St Vincent and the Grenadines. I taught weekly classes, choreographed and preformed with a team and designed a 8 week programme for the teachers to use after I left the island to go back to working on the cruise ships.
9. What embarrassing mistake have you made that has taught you a lesson?
My easy-going nature could have landed me in big trouble when I was travelling with the cruise ships and exploring new places. I am more cautious now about being safe and travelling with a companion.
10. What’s your guilty pleasure?
Binge watching series when I occasionally get free time, and yes anything doctor related was on that list, Grey’s Anatomy, House, The Good Doctor just to name a few.
