At the beginning of January Ali and her husband Lloyd will be going to the Village of Hope in India to provide treatment and training. Many of the people they will be treating suffer from Leprosy which means they have painful blisters and wounds on their hands and feet. They will also provide training support to the onsite team as well as taking them extra supplies of bandages etc. This is the second trip that Ali has made and she hopes that it will encourage other chiropodists and podiatrists to do the same. There is more information about the work at the Village available by following this link.
We will running a regular blog about their visit on this website and sending email updates to anyone who would like to receive them – send us an email if you would like to be added to the list. The working conditions are a little different to those that our team are used to and there is never a dull moment with all sorts of visitors including goats and chickens.
The recent sponsored walk that Ali and Lloyd completed was a great success finishing the walk in 7 hours and raising more than £1200 for the Village of Hope.
