During an equestrian career producing and competing event horses I qualified as a Level 3 Personal Trainer, followed by a Level 5 Diploma in Clinical Sport and Remedial Massage Therapy at the London School of Sports Massage in 2014. Although I have a sporting background I very much enjoy seeing a variety of patients at Theale Wellbeing Centre for a wide range of treatments from a tension relieving massage, to muscular injury diagnosis, postural alignment issues, to supporting athletes whether amateur or professional through training and or competition.
Outside of work, I am still riding, it has been part of my life since I was very small! Walking my dog and special family time.

Qualifications:

  • Level 3 Personal Trainer
  • Level 5 Diploma in Clinical Sport and Remedial Massage Therapy

My therapist journey started in 2004 when I qualified as a soft tissue massage therapist. Ever since I was little I was interested in massages and would be the first to offer if my family ever needed one. My thirst for knowledge stuck with me and I decided to study Chinese medicine in order to help expand my understanding of the body and how to help it.

In 2010 I completed my degree in Acupuncture from Kingston University and I am a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC).

In 2011 I became a resident acupuncturist on board Royal Caribbean cruises where I helped thousands of people over the course of 3 years. Having only one to two weeks with my patients meant that I had to produce results from the first treatment. Moreover I had to show my patients what acupuncture can achieve in a short space of time. This really changed the way I practice and my approach to treatments, and I continue this ethos in my practice today.

I specialise in pain management, musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. I offer bespoke treatments to improve your mind, body and spirit. Using a multifaceted approach I combine Acupuncture, Massage, Cupping, Gua Sha and Emmett technique to achieve fast effective results from your first treatment.

Since returning to land I have attended multiple post grad courses in the UK and abroad in different styles of acupuncture including the famous Dr Richard Tan Balance Method Acupuncture, Master Tung acupuncture, Zhu Scalp acupuncture,Yamamoto New Scalp Acupuncture, Fertility acupuncture and Facial Rejuvenation acupuncture.

Qualifications:

I trained as an osteopath at the University College of Osteopathy in London.  I have developed a particular interest in patients of all ages on the autism spectrum and women’s health problems.

I also have a special interest in musicians and how playing different instruments, voice and posture affect the body.

Additional techniques available within osteopathy include Harmonics technique, Still technique and cranial osteopathy with the Rollin Becker Institute.  These are very gentle forms of treatment suitable for all ages which can be incorporated into osteopathic techniques or treated separately depending on the individual.

I have a background in music, badminton coaching, plays tennis, and am a keen gardener. I have previously worked with dogs, horses and on farms.

Since completing my degree, I have been working in the NHS where I specialise in minor nail surgery and wound care. I am currently also an Educator within the NHS for newly qualified staff and students. I have plenty of experience in most other areas within Podiatry however my passion lies with diabetic foot ulcer care.
In my free time, I enjoy a good rock concert, am a frequent theatregoer and a avid sports fan; my favourites being football, cricket, tennis and American Football.

Qualifications:

  • Honours degree in Podiatry

I graduated from the renowned College of Naturopathic medicine and am registered and regulated by the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT) and The Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).

I co-founded Optihealth UK 12 years ago offering Food Sensitivity Testing and Nutritional advice. Following 3 more years of evidence-based functional medicine study I expanded Optihealth UK to include Nutritional Therapy.

By looking at your lifestyle, health history, current health challenges I can suggest practical ways to encourage the best possible conditions for you to enjoy a full and healthy life. Whilst my work often focuses on supporting people with IBS and other digestive related issues, low energy and skin disorders many other health issues can be improved through dietary changes and nutritional support.

In my spare time I love running, yoga, playing golf, meeting up with friends and expanding my knowledge of worldwide wines.

Testimonial- Jan 04th, 2019:

Thank you to Cathy and her friendly service at Optihealth for helping my daughter feel so much better. We have been through some very difficult times this year but thankfully since the testing there has been a dramatic change. It is so lovely to see Lily smiling again, there is no more pain and she is back to the happy little girl we once knew. I would definitely recommend Cathy for Food Sensitivity Testing.

I have a particular interest in treating autoimmune diseases including digestive disturbances and allergies, hormonal and menstrual imbalances, anxiety, and treating families through pregnancy and breastfeeding.

My son and I were both gluten-intolerant for years. Homeopathic treatment was life-changing for us both. I was incredibly skeptical that it would be able to help, but have been blown away at how homeopathy not only was able to help with the symptoms, but also at the same time increase our general sense of wellbeing.

I am available for appointments at Theale Wellbeing Centre on Fridays and Saturdays.
